DMCA

Creating an original work in a physical medium grants automatic copyright ownership. This exclusive right allows specific ways of usage for various types of works like sound recordings and music, visual works, video games, etc.

In the United States, "fair use" allows using copyrighted material in certain circumstances without infringement. Examples include parody, satire, and social commentary.

Anime Custom accepts unsolicited designs from independent artists who agree to our policies on intellectual property rights. Our selected designs are new, original, and/or (most typically) transformative works that may parody, satirize, or provide social commentary on copyrighted materials. Anime Custom respects copyrights and only uses fair use of others' works. We are not affiliated with the owners of the copyrights to which the selected designs may refer.

Anime Custom makes the effort to respond to infringement claims that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and other applicable laws. Actions potentially include removing or disabling access to designs that are claimed to be infringed upon. Should Anime Custom remove or disable access to a design, we will reach out to the independent artist and see if they would like to make a counter-claim pursuant to Section 512(g)(2) and (3) of the DMCA.

Please refer to the following detailed instructions which must be followed to protect your rights under the DMCA.
